Woofers

We've recently been looking into upgrading our surround sound system, so I've been learning a lot about Sub-woofers and tweeters and base speakers.

Yea, that's right, I'm a techno-geek. So?

Typically in any good surround sound setup you want a co-axial system (two speakers, for those that don't speak "speaker") at minimum, and well more than that for true surround.

Right now I'm looking for the "woofer" component.  I think these just might be perfect.

No More Book Elbow

I am a busy mom of five.

Six if you count the dog.

Seven if you count the husband.

Anyway – I don’t really have time to sit, relax and read a book.  Well, I guess I do, but if I did when would I research for this site?  Exactly.

If I did sit and read a book (which I do find the time for once in a while) I usually try to curl up in a small corner away from everyone and everything…and escape into my book.

I’m not sure this would fit into my own little private corner though…

On the plus side, you can read while lying on your back and don’t have to worry about your arms getting tired and hitting yourself in the nose with the book (not that I have ever done that.)  And it’s lighted – although it seems to me that it’d be kind of reminiscent of being in the dentist chair with the light in your eyes while he says “this will only pinch…” (Lie of the century – but whatever).  And the dreaded “book elbow” – you know what I mean – where your elbows start to ache from holding them in the same position for several hours…

Thank you anyway Sky Mall for trying.  I do know this is a huge problem among American women who are on their millionth reading of the Twilight saga (which I still haven’t read), or the millionth reading of The Hunger Games (which I did read, and hated…I know I’m such a non-conformist).

Time to Trim the Tree…

When trimming your tree this year – please, don’t forget the ornaments that have somehow journeyed here from the island of misfit toys…

Yes, that’s a pickle.  Because no tree is complete without a pickle.

 
Because there might just be one child in your house who isn’t yet afraid of clowns…yet.

HAND Soap…

I’ve seen flower shaped soap.  Shell shaped soap.  Even soap shaped like tiny pieces of citrus fruit – heck, I’ve MADE soap like that.

But now – introducing…soap for those who have to be literal about all their products:

That’s right folks…Hand soap.  For all your hand washing needs.

Look at the bright side, at least one of them is telling you they love you…

Before it reaches out and grabs you that is.

I think this goes way beyond a simple bath scrubbing…you might want to call an exorcist instead of attempting to clean this one yourself…

Ok, so a Cozy Isn’t Your Thing…

Never fear!  The folks over at Collections ETC. have your laundry room needs covered too.

Um, yea, because a giant magnet with a picture of freshly hanging laundry on the front of my washer is EXACTLY what I need to make that room feel more inviting.

Washer and Dryer Cozy…

Years ago, my grandmother (whom I love very much and would never even think of making fun of – mostly because I know she’d kick my butt if she was still here to do so…) used to have these cozy things all over her house.  She had one that covered her bread box, one for the toaster, one for the KitchenAid- (which I’m pretty sure was a custom made creation) and I think she might have even had one that covered the back of her toilet.

Grandma never, ever – I repeat NEVER had one of these:



Why didn’t she have one?


Grandma may have been strange – after all, she IS related to me…but she wasn’t crazy.  At least not that anyone could prove in a court of law anyway.

Tell me though, don’t you just have to have one of these now?  Don’t the blue butterflies and ruffles just scream serenity?

Oh wait, that isn’t serenity – it’s insanity.  Sorry about that.
