More Royal Trinkets.

So I wanted to post about the shuttle launch. I wanted to comment on how cool it was and then show you some pretty interesting products in commemoration of the event. But - wouldn't you know it, I can't find any. They say that the shuttle didn't take off-but with the Royal Wedding and the Debacle concerning Princess Beatrices' hat-honestly I don't think American media has had a chance to discuss much else.

So, instead, I thought I'd share with you some more Royal Wedding Trinkets that you simply cannot live without.

Like this mug prominently featuring Catherine and her loving husband?

image

er...uh...brother-in-law. Whatever. You see one Prince you've seen them all, right?

Okay well, we've got to have something else around here you'd like to see - *shuffling papers* - Yes! This DIY book is the perfect wedding trinket, and it's so personal when you make it yourself...

image

...blink...blink...no no, that just won't do at all. To show the Queen in any color other than yellow is treason, is it not? (because she almost always wears yellow...or at least that's the color I always see her in, you know in my multiple sightings of her, on Television, in the middle of the night, while taking NyQuil).

If neither one of those work for you, then perhaps this is more your speed:

I mean, who wouldn't want to wake up each morning to get your daily crumpets and milk from this baby?

And if you pair it with your Charles and Diana Tea Towels, your kitchen would be fit for any Queen to visit?

(I'm going to stop right there. I could say so much more about a Wills and Kate kitchen, but - I'm going to show some restraint. What? Don't act so shocked.)

After you've decked out your kitchen in Royal regalia, and knitted your mini wedding, I think perhaps it might be time for a manicure...

and a cup of tea?

(not sure what the dollar bills are for in her hand?)

And finally, don't let your computer be left out of the phone. Purchase it a lovely mousepad with the official Royal Wedding Photo:

After all, you should have your copy of the bride's wedding photos before she does, should you not?

Come to think of it, I'm still waiting for my wedding photos. She's a lucky gal = getting married in the digital age. I believe all of mine are on film. For those of you that don't know what that is...ask your parents, be prepared for mean glares and possibly being told to go clean the bathroom, with your toothbrush, twice.

The Royal Wedding - Hats.

So - no Fabulous find Friday post today - why? Because I'm super sick, and I-m on this medicine induced weird brain fest thing --- that coupled with the fever I've been running - I swear I'm hallucinating.

You know when you are sick and can't sleep you stay up all night watching TV? Well - I was just lucky enough to be ill on a night when The Royal Wedding of Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton (a commoner *gasp*) was being televised to the world. At two AM. Perfect.

So, here I sat, watching television, in a NyQuil state of euphoria (perhaps that's the fabulous find, no?) and I started seeing things pop across the screen. The first few weren't bad-

image

Understated, and actually kind of pretty - the Queen herself looks great in Yellow.

The Queen and Princess of Spain also used a great deal of restraint in their hat designs.

image

But then - I saw these...

image

She's a news-anchor's wife, so perhaps she didn't have anyone on the Royal Staff teaching her about grace and understated looks- (Like Catherine's dress-that was simply beautiful-like Princess Grace of Monaco.)

There were also several "Satellite Dish" designs-and in this image I don't know what's better, the hat or the facial expression?

image

(you see - she IS royalty - so there goes my theory that nobody counseled her on her clothing choice.)

image

A "vision" in blue ? seriously, I thought I was seeing things.

image

Possibly preparing herself for impeding alien attack? (If I just stand still, they'll think I'm a mushroom?)

image

Hat or bow, hat or bow ---- oh heck - we'll do both!

But this last one - totally took the cake.

image

What. The. Heck. Is. That? Is she a guest or is she gift wrapped?

image

Oh dear Princess...

Back to bed with me. I'm pretty sure I really am hallucinating. In order to have faith in fashion and humanity I must believe that.

G'night.

Thank you to Krystal for suggesting I post about these. Not only did she give me a great idea, but she also made me feel a little more confident I wasn’t hallucinating, because she saw them too.

A Royal Ooopsie!

So HRH (for those of you on the non-British side of the pond, that stands for His Royal Highness) Prince William has been dating the same girl for a while.

In anticipation of impending nuptials, some time in the past three years, retail giant Woolworths started to create fun little bobbles and trinkets bearing their images and stating ‘In Celebration of the Royal Marriage of…’  Leaving room for the date etc etc.

One problem.  Wills isn’t engaged.  Rumors are abounding that he might  pop the question sometime in the near future (but that’s been the rumor for, oh – three years now – hence the ‘date’ on the bobbles being 200?, I suppose they didn’t think it’d make it to 2010?)

Poor Woolies…whatever are they to do with all these trinkets now?

image

Skeet shooting practice anyone?

Yes, I know this isn’t an actual product you can buy RIGHT now – however, some merchandising genius out there is preparing to make a ton of money off of these things.  I mean, hey – you need a Prince William china service for 8 to go with that Princess Di and Prince Charles cookie plate and tea set, right?  The thing that surprises me, somewhat sadly, is that this merchandising genius is right…these things are gonna sell like hot cakes – which doesn’t leave me any less confused.
